Chabuya/Ebisu
ちゃぶ屋/恵比寿

This little shop tucked right into the corner of the intersection is about 20 steps away from Afuri, one of the better-known and better-regarded shops in the Ebisu area. Don't confuse this place with Chabuton, which is one street over to the west on the main drag east of Ebisu Station. Overall this place was decent but not spectacular IMO, however it was crowded. The grilled chashu served on a separate plate was very fatty and tasted very good, the soup and noodles were decent but average. The sign out in front seemed to indicate that they would be closing up the shop soon, and that there were various free items (including omori noodle service, rice or boiled eggs) available with your meal as a result, however it wasn't clear whether it was just for the New Year Holidays or for good.
