Menya Shou/Shinjuku
麺屋翔/新宿

This shop has a very nice old-style tiled orange roof in front. Inside it's very much a "working man's" shop and I felt a bit out of place there with all of the construction workers and gardeners. A TV in the corner had various strange shows on it including the types with various scantily-clad women, the type that appeal to the people in this place, and there was huge amounts of miscellaneous crap laying around in the shop. There was only one guy working behind the bar and he was really humping it. If you get the atsumori noodles, they get delivered in warm water. The soup was on the weak side. In this area of the city, the Shinjuku Ramen Jiro or Hirugao would be a better choice.
